Daryl + Yiling // Republic Poly Adventure

These two outdoor lovers go way back, having first met on a kayaking expedition during their poly days. We were touched by how Daryl vividly and poetically described that fateful evening where something deeper within him tickled.

“Her smile seemed wider than the rest, her face seemed to glow brighter than the others. As the sky darkens by the seconds, everyone fleetly stopped to awe into the horizon and in that slow-mo moment, it felt like there was only two of us. Yiling and I were able to share the silence under the autumnal sunset when our eyes met”.

Fate would have their paths crossed several times, through life’s challenges and trials, each time reaffirming their shared values, hopes and dreams. Time and again, the great outdoors was a constant invisible force binding these two together, having reconnected at their work place in the outdoor industry. It certainly takes a lot to see past each other’s differences, and find comfort in all the big and little things that count.
